Cancer vaccine helps patients live longer
Cancer patients with one of the deadliest forms of the disease have had their lives extended by a vaccine developed in New York. Pancreatic cancer kills 95 percent of patients within two years. In a preliminary study of patients who received the vaccine survived twice as long on average. Among the 10 patients treated, one was still alive and disease free five years, with two living and disease free after two years.
